JJD Annual Scholarship
The scholarship will grant $1,000.00 each year to a full-time JSU Student in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation
In April 2018, Josten J. Day at the age of 25 was killed in an accident caused by a reckless driver, driving on the wrong side of the road. Josten was heading north when the driver of a southbound car forced him off the road, his car hit an embankment and flipped several times, and the driver did not stop. The accident occurred on Highway 51 in Canton, MS. Josten was a junior at Jackson State University, pursuing a degree in Physical Education and Recreation. A kind and generous young man, who never met a stranger, Josten enjoyed his life, his family, and his community. He was an all-around athlete, participating in soccer, football, baseball, and basketball at Terry High School and at Holmes Community College. Josten was a joy to know and only wanted the best for family, friends, and his fellowman.
